MATHEW 5:1-12

“THE PRINCIPLES AND RULE OF THE KINGDOM “

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

THE POWER OF PRAISE

In Uncategorized on August 27, 2011 at 4:29 am

What is praise? Praise eulogizes God, conveying the idea of boastful singing or speaking about His glorious virtues and honor. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Speak well of our Father, tell of His goodness, adore Him and give Him an audible celebration. Praise is sometimes quiet and contemplative. Nursing infants gurgle choruses about you; toddlers shout the songs that drown out enemy talk, and silence atheist babble (Psalm 8:2 Msg).

Praise will overthrow satanic captivity! Joyful praise opens prison doors preparing the way of salvation (Acts 16:25, 26). Praise repels and replaces the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3). Praise releases power and the anointing that destroys yokes and moves burdens (Matt. 21:16). Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who blesses us with all spiritual blessings!

Joyful praise releases blessings and satisfaction. His unfailing love is better than life itself; praise Him! Honor Him, lift up your hands to Him in prayer. He will satisfy you more than the richest of foods. Praise Him with songs of joy. Praise will release rivers of living water washing away anxiety, fear and depression.

According to Numbers 21 Israel gathered together and began to sing to the well: “spring up, o well, all of you sing to it.” When you sing songs of thanksgiving for past blessings and a song of faith in God’s promises for the present you will receive life and not death. Praise will birth victory in the face of warfare. The Levites confronted their enemies with “loud and high voices of praise” and obtained victory (II Chronicles 20:15-22). Praise stops the advancement of wickedness and drives out the temptations to sin (Ps. 7:14-17).

Praise is for all seasons. Don’t wait until all your circumstances are favorable. Bless the Lord at all times; let His praises be continual in your mouth! And when you find yourself in seasons of trials or temptation, praise Him!

In Uncategorized on August 24, 2011 at 4:53 am

“All will know that you are my disciples, If you love among yourselves, John 13: 35.” Godly love over comes racial, social, and national barriers and draws people together in an unbreakable bond of true brotherhood.

“walk worthy of the calling”

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.  They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.  Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.

That, however, is not the way of life you learned  when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.  You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;  to be made new in the attitude of your minds;  and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Eph. 4:17-21)

The standard living of the believer as new man in Christ

1. NO LONGER, WALK LIKE THE REST OF THE GENTILES… (17-19)

 They walk “in the futility of their mind” – How so?

 Their walk is “past feeling” – as indicated by the fact they

 “have given themselves over to licentiousness” (i.e., unbridled lust, excess)

2. INSTEAD, WALK IN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUE HOLINESS… (20-24)

 This is how you learned Christ

 For you were taught to “put off” the “old man”

3. AND TO “BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND”

Forgiveness

In Uncategorized on August 19, 2011 at 5:24 am

The best way to forgive is to forget. How many times God forgives our sins, do the same for our brothers and sisters. I know it is not easy but pray God to give us strength.

“My People Are Destroyed For a Lack of Knowledge…” Hosea 4:6

In Uncategorized on August 18, 2011 at 4:21 pm

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. The more they increased, the more they sinned against me; I will change their glory into shame. They eat up the sin of my people; they set their heart on their iniquity. And it shall be like people, like priest; so I will punish them for their ways, and reward them for their deeds. For they shall eat, but not have enough; they shall commit harlotry, but not increase, because they have ceased obeying the LORD. Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart (Hosea 4:6-11).

I. Who are God’s people in our age?

  • God promised He would write His law in the hearts of men (Jeremiah 31:33 and Hebrews 8:10).
  •  Those who accepted Christ as their personal savior (John 3:16).
  •  Those who are baptized (Galatians 3:26-27).
  •  Those who love God (I Corinthians 8:3).

II. Conclusion

  • If you are a child of God, instead of rejecting, embrace his knowledge for what it really is (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
  •  What should you do if you are not a child of God?
        •  Repent (Mathew 3:1-11, Acts 3:19, 17:30).
        •  Accept Christ as you personal savior (John 1:8, 3:16-18, Romans 10:9-10).
        •  Be baptized (Mark 16:16, Acts 16:30-31).
